George started out skimming ceilings and boarding out extensions, and fifteen years later the van still goes out every morning with him in it. We are a small local outfit. When you ring, you get the man who will be on your scaffold, not a call centre and not a salesman on commission.
Outside work is the bulk of what we do, and the inside trade we started in is still on the books. All of it goes on all year round.
Solid walls insulated from the outside and finished in the render you choose.
Machine sprayed silicone render, flexible, breathable and low maintenance.
Skimming, boarding and full room work inside the house.
Through coloured render in your shade, so there is no painting to keep up.
Traditional dash finish, patched to match or applied fresh.
One coat through coloured render, scraped back to a clean even face.
Finished houses across the valleys, in the colours the owners picked.
We cover the whole of Gwent, from Ebbw Vale and Abergavenny in the north down to Cwmbran and Newport in the south. Insulation and render are big jobs, so we travel for them.
Yes. That is the single biggest thing people get wrong about rendering. The old sand and cement renders needed warm dry weather to go off properly, so the trade got a reputation for stopping in October. The silicone and monocouche systems we use are designed to be applied in cold conditions, and we work through the winter with them. We keep an eye on the forecast and we will not spray into driving rain or a hard frost, but a cold week in January is not a reason to put your job back to spring.
Nothing. We come out, survey the property, measure up and price the work properly. We would rather stand on your drive and see the walls than guess at a number over the phone, because solid wall, cavity, pebble dash and old render all behave differently once you get close to them.
Yes, and we think it is the most useful thing we do. When we come out for the survey we take photographs, and we send you back a virtual image of your own property finished in the colour you are thinking about. Picking a render colour off a small sample card is hard. Seeing it on your own house is not.
Ten years on the render and fifteen years on the external wall insulation. Those are the system guarantees that come with working to the manufacturer specification rather than cutting corners on the build up.
George holds City and Guilds Level 3 in plastering, and we are approved installers for SPS EnviroWall and Wetherby systems. That approval matters on insulation work, because the guarantee depends on the whole system going on the way the manufacturer designed it.
A straightforward render on a three bed semi is usually a week, weather allowing. External wall insulation takes longer because the boards, beads and mesh coat all go on before the finish, so think closer to two weeks. We will give you a realistic run of days when we quote, not a best case one.
We do. Plastering and plasterboarding is where George started and we still take it on, from a single ceiling skim to boarding out a whole extension.
We are based in Brynmawr and we work right across Gwent, from Ebbw Vale and Abergavenny in the north down to Cwmbran and Newport in the south. If you are not sure whether you are in range, ring and ask.
